The IELTS Reading section is the second test given on the exam day. Examinees are given an hour to answer three passages with 12-13 questions each. If you are taking the academic module or the general training module you have to check that you are given the appropriate answer sheet and questionnaire, and ask the invigilator for questions or clarifications.

Skimming and scanning are two of the most important skills an examinee needs to practice to ace the IELTS reading test. It would also be helpful if one has a wide lexical resource and knows how to spot key words. Applicants are also advised to read and follow instructions carefully and strictly.
